Great waterproof but takes away comfort

I guess the addition of waterproof material takes away from typical ON comfort. This is my 5th pair of ON's but first time trying the waterproof and it honestly feels like wearing wooden clogs, sole and sides are incredibly flex-resistant. Bought them for a theme park walking vacation and have regretted every second of wearing them. I will go back to the regular ON's after this for sure.
